First, you'll have to find the studs -- usually on 16" centers; remove the dry wall/sheetrock between those two studs --your 'cabinet' will be 16" wide and how ever tall you want it -- most 'stud finders' will also indicate the location of wires or plumbing -- say you want it 2' high --- cut boards to fit between the studs, however far apart you want -- one at the top and one at the bottom -- and say 2-3 in between -- remember the shelf will only be as wide as the wall is deep ....3 3/4" if the studs are standard 2 x 4's - paint, stain, boards, screw into the upright wall studs; paint of put a mirror on the back of the wall on the other side -- this is way over simplified -- just the bare basics
