I'm in the process of taking mine down and installing new panels in a bi-fold louvered closet door. Aside from not having to spend time cleaning each louver, they don't look dated. Home Depot and Lowe's have the panels. Just transfer the hardware.
Thank you for your input, it maybe an idea if the above doesn't work.

I have these louvered doors and believe me they are a pain to clean. Soap and water would not work unless you "dust" them first. I find the best thing is a narrow paint brush with a nice quality bristle. This is the only way to get into the corners. I also have narrow adjustable shutters. Same thing to clean them.
