How do you renew a zinc top.
-
Z on Feb 23, 2014Jane, I'd carefully peal off the contact paper using a plastic putty knife against the edge of the contact that stills adhered to the zinc while pulling the released edge with the other hand. The plastic putty knife will avoid adding new scratches as there's a good chance the contact was used to cover up old scratches. Once that's done use a mild abrasive and 3M pad to remove any excess adhesive from the surface. Here's a couple links that might help keeping it clean: http://www.brookscustom.com/zinc-countertops-care-and-feeding.php http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSDAVZaLQtUHelpful Reply
