I also live in Ohio and I put mine up April 15 - tax day - always easy to remainber
Watch your feeders for activity, then leave them out for a couple of weeks after the hummers seem to have flown south in case there are some slow pokes that get a late start.
when you first see the humming birds in spring which varies from state to state but no matter where it is you absolutely have to take the food away by sept 15th as that will encourage the birds to stay longer and they will die in the cold if you wait longer than that to take their food away, i usually see them in late april in utah
Mine are up year round but I live in Southern CA. My girlfriend in NC has them out May 1st. All depends where you live. Here are a few links to help you out! Enjoy!

I totally disagree that birds stay beyond migration if food is available. No, that's a wives tale! (Check out Birds and Bloom!) I live in SW Michigan, and my bird diaries average the last FEMALE hummers at my feeders until September 20. MALES, still at the feeders today, usually leave about 2 weeks before the females. I always leave fresh food up until October 15...this helps the late northern migrators passing through. (BTW, I put the feeders up April 15...males start migrating through about 2 weeks before the females who show up about May 8-13.). Keep a diary for your different birds; you'll be surprised at how en sync they are! (Male hummers "come home" within a day or two of Orioles and Red Breasted Grosbeaks.)
