Cilantro is a herb. You could put a few seeds in a small pot and grow it on your window sill. Spray a bit of water on it every few days. Needs a sunny window.
It grows like parsley, even looks a lot like parsley. Mine gets some sun, but not all day and I have never had such great parsley before this year. Try putting it somewhere that doesn't get all day afternoon sun that is so strong, morning and evening is not as strong so that is ok. Make sure they get plenty of water. if you can grow parsley, you can grow cilantro. When I grew my herbs in the garden or my window boxes I always had cilantro growing. I don't have the room for another pot on my stand for another pot, so cilantro was eliminated. Your hot weather may be affecting it. My parsley all but stopped growing when it got really hot for a few weeks, even with daily watering.
likes it cool. Start as early as possible. If your climate is hot, try it in some shade.
Typically people over water cilantro. It thrives well on a bit of neglect. Mine do best in the winter months. Here are a few links for you geared to the Southern California gardener.
