I would like it as a kitchen backsplash. Has anyone tried this without it turning out a disaster?

why don't you go to Home Depot and get some ideas. I think the brick look is pretty outdated. They have really pretty backslashes that come in sheets and just press on the wall. Go and ask and they will help you.

  I love the country farm house look and I think a whitewash brick never goes out of date :-) Just trying to save money while putting the kiddos through college!
