The two primary diseases of peace lily are caused by the Cylindrocladium spathyphylli and Phytophthora parasitica fungi. Both these fungal pathogens live in soil where they attack peace lily roots and cause them to rot. Above-ground symptoms include leaves that wilt and turn yellow, starting at the base of plants. Once plants are infected, there is no practical cure and they should be discarded. To protect new plants, you can use a soil drench that contains thiophanate-methyl.

Repot in a slightly larger container, using fresh, new potting soil. Place the whole thing in a clean bowl & fill the bowl w/water. Allow it to soak up as much as it will until the top of the soil is wet - usually about an hour. Remove it from the bowl & let it drain off the excess water. Now you're all set for a week or so. Peace lilies don't like to stay wet When it starts to droop a bit, repeat . I keep mine on an east window sill, & have had it for years. Repot when it gets crowded, or make a whole new batch of smaller ones by cutting it to separate the newer plants. Mine blooms in the winter.
