Hi Helen, If you put a garden size windmill where the moles are known to be, they should evacuate. Moles travel by sliding on their bellies. They cannot tolerate the vibrations given off from a windmill. For the gophers, throw a handful of moth balls in to their "home". Mothballs work great for getting rid of rabbits too.

Eliminating the Grubs in the soil, they are a food sour e for moles.. The moles tear up the ground digging tunnels and digging the Grubs out.

Try sprinkling mothballs or cayanne pepper- they hate that!
thanks all of you. Will try your methods. We have been using gopher bombs. It seems to work temporarily but that pop up in a new area.
If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
