I guess it is the luck of the draw. Once you get to know a person, you should be able to tell if they get into woodworking or anything like that, he could be a DIYer. Or ask him to help you figure out how to make something with you and see what his reaction is. Have a few projects out when he is at your house, if he says "Can I help?" You got one! If a person really loves you they will be glad to help, especially since it is cheaper than purchasing what you are doing and original to you. Good luck, you can find somebody!
Well, get a job at a DIY store or a hardware store. Or find lots of projects around the house that need to be done, advertise for a crafty-handyman, don't list all the projects all at once but one at a time. Hopefully, after a few ads, a single handyman will show up. Take a woodworking class, maybe find a guy there, if you are interested in his craft....he just might be interested in yours. Happy Hunting! PS..My maiden name is the same as your name.
My husband was a brainiac who could go on forever on some convoluted mathmatical formula or geopolitics but god love him, he couldn't so much as hammer a nail or screw in a screw. And he had absolutely no interest in trying. I was the household handywoman. Wouldn't have traded him in for anyone else.

Thanks for the answers, ladies! I enjoy upscaling and repurposing on my own, but I think it would be even more fun to throw some good companionship into the mix. God bless you!
