Clean it up , then get an exterior oil based brick an concrete sealer / primer.....the exterior sealer/primer last longer an can take a beating better than interior. Then paint any color you want.

Twenty years ago I painted a concrete slump-stone block fireplace wall (about 7 ft square. I just cleaned it like I did the other walls and used the same interior water based paint that I used on the rest of the walls. It still looks perfect.
