How do I get my hydrangea to bloom?

I've had it three years and it's healthy but never a flower.

I used a miracle grow attachment on my hose to water mine, finally bloomed. Depending on type of hydrangea, the soil needs to be just right.
Hydrangeas like morning sun, well drained soil, and of course need fertilizing. I like time release pellets that are for flowers & vegetables, ie. Osmocote, but Scotts is good too.
