Sure, use any paint appropriate for plastic. Washi tape can be used to decorate too, if you're interested in another option.

I agree. Most of them are plastic, so you need paint that will adhere.
Krylon Fusion is good paint, but like Johnavallance82 , I wonder if it would block the "glow"...Perhaps a glass paint would be better.
