google the '5 gallon pail' of death for chipmunks. You just need a 5 gallon pail, 3 inches of water in the bottom and some sunflower seeds that to cover the top of the water. It you put it next to some steps, or some stacked bricks it will be easier for the chipmunks to fall in, and they can't escape. It works continously without any effort from you. . I captured 5 the first night and 3 more the second night on my patio plus a mouse. I used a kitty litter scooper to bag up the dead animals daily. After 3 days I cleaned out the old seed and put in fresh water and more seed. Caught nothing, so I was done.
Get a bucket and fill it 1/2 way with water and a squirt of Dawn. Set a piece of scrap wood as a ramp from the ground to the top of the container. Sprinkle a few sunflower seeds along the ramp and a few more floating on top of the water. Chippies will eat their way up the ramp, see the seeds, go into the bucket and drown. The soap makes them drown faster by breaking the surface tension of the water so their fur doesn't act like a life jacket. Works great outdoors and in my unfinished basement (for mice). Also, stop feeding birds, the seeds they drop attract chipmunks; or at least move the feeder as far from your house as possible and buy some binoculars.
