Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Ground ivy rarely needs mown, stays green through dry weather, and displays an attractive blue flower in the spring. I'd vote for eliminating the grass. However, if you need to rid your lawn of this plant, which grows rapidly and fills in bare spots where nothing else will grow, lawn poison from your local home center is the only practical solution.

It is extremely hard to get rid of it but can be done with patience. I would treat the area this fall with a herbicide. I used one that you can hook up to the hose and spray on. Then watch for it reappear in spring and spray again. This is a very aggressive weed and can take over everything. When I got rid of mine it took me a few years to completely get rid of it all but it is possible.
