Gather the Pots together where they will give most impact and be easier to access. Grow Alpine plants in Gritty soil
John avalanche has the right idea. You are showing 8 or 9 pots in the photos. Try placing (or get someone to help you) half on the right side corner, in a triangle pattern nearest your walkway, and the rest on the left.
Place the tallest at the back and shortest in the front. Keep them tight together for a stronger effect and easier watering.
Taller plants in the back pots and smaller plants in the front, possibly cascading down the front of the pots.
You could use bricks or blocks to raise the pots in the back.
Janet Pizaros website suggestion is very good for helping you choose what to plant.
I'm so glad you don't want to give up on gardening, even though you are not well.
Your garden will bring you so much happiness.
I agree ...put the pots together in a mass planting were they are easiest for you to reach...if you can get light putting mixture that holds water that will help too. Sorry I'm not to familiar with what will grow best in your area.
If you take a couple of baby diapers and place in the bottom of the containers they will retain moisture so you wont have to water as often. Use a potting soil that has a time release plant food like miracle grow which will help your plants grow and stay healthy. Then depending on where you live pick plants that will grow well in your area. Ask at the garden center.
Begonias are supposed to grow where you live. I have mine in pots every where. Shade and sun. Some are in really small pots and yet they continue to bloom all year long. When they are dry their leaves will tell you as they change color. There are at least three variations in leaf choice and blooms are usually red, white, and pink. Grouped together as other have said they make a beautiful show and will make you smile with a minimum of effort! Also, if you protect from winter frost and cold they will come back in the spring. Good luck and I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well.
