Covering Tile Floors

I want to do away with the tile all throughout my house and put laminate. Is there a way to do it without removing the tile? This picture shows the 2 different types of tile in the house.

Yes, you can install laminate flooring over a ceramic tile floor, if the tile floor is in good condition, and the tile are well attached, level, and flat. The process would be the same as installing a laminate floor on a concrete slab.

Yes if you use a floating laminate floor. Just remember you'll be raising the level of your floor a bit. You'll need to remove your baseboards.

Yes as long as the existing tile is even.

Do recommend the laminate that already has the pad attached. You will want to follow the instructions for installation as laminate is a floating floor and needs to move. Good luck.

i had laminate put over tile in one room; it is great. i have had no problems. the laminate they sell today has a rubber type backing on each piece. mine had a piece of rubber like material laid out first then the laminate boards were placed on top. really no difference. the new stuff saves a step.

      Bea,

What did you put as a seperator going from the laminated room to your other room - didn't that raise the floor slightly?
