Basement Remodeling

This is the basement in my house. I built it all myself. The posts and beams are chestnut and oak barn beams from circa 1830.The walls are stucco to look like old plaster. All the doors are handmade with iron hardware.
the angled door is a closet under the stairwell. The opposite side is the bar
I built a stone hearth large enough to stack firewood beside the wood stove

the bar side of the basement. the shelves are built into the stairwell. The foot and arm rails are chestnut pole rafters and the top is oak barn siding with epoxy resin.

A wall of old beer cans from around the world covers one side of the bar room
This is a walkout basement so we added French doors

Totally so cool. I'm a country girl so I could easily love this.

Wow, you really put a lot of thought and work into this. How long had you been collecting and storing all the wood you put in your basement? I bet you are enjoying this space. Well done.
    • @patty I took down a 1830 carriage house/ stable. The wood was then washed and dried. I used a draw knife to remove any "soft " wood. I was lucky to get all the wood I needed from one source. I am still making small projects with the remainder of the wood...thank you for the compliments
