If weeds and poison ivy are in between all your flowers, you have to dig out by hand individually. Or, dig out your plants, treat the area, then replant.
I use kettles of boiling water, epsom salt followed by boiling water or vinegar. Vinegar will kill ny plant so be careful where you spray it.
Another option is to smother the weeds and ivy with newspapers, cardboard or plastic.
You will have to dig them out as much as possible, and if you can get in-between use boiling water only on the weeds
Vinegar in a spray bottle.
Dig them up!
People swear by using boiling water to kill them. Here’s a link that gives you more options, too. All cheap and pretty much home made.

Start with boiling water on the weeds, wait till they die 48 hrs. Next, soak the ground with the garden hose, wait 24, hrs. Now pull the weeds as close to the ground as possible, this will get the root and all. No pesticides. Good Luck!
If you want to save the flowers or shrubs, round up is probably the best bet because you can target the offending plants and not have it annihilate the surrounding area. Cut off near the ground and paint the stumps, this will let it bring it into the root. It does not spread into the ground to affect any other plant. It won't hurt wildlife or kids as soon as it is dry. Vinegar sterilizes the surrounding soil so nothing will grow, salt stays in the environment forever and changes the salinity of our streams, rivers and lakes forever, thus changing what grows and lives their. Using cardboard or newspaper kills whatever is under it, but does not guarantee it won't come back unless you leave it on that area for a real long time.
