I've heard it might be tricky. Is it true? What is the best way to that? It's this year's plant. No flowers yet.
All depends on where you live. Mine live outside in pots and in ground year round, but I am in Southern California. Place in a protected area and see how they do. You can always move into a garage if they seem to be struggling.
You need to check to see what zone they are safe to leave out. I know that my mom left her hens and chicks in her garden year round in Minneapolis, MN. Different succulents have different needs as far as hardiness. Being you are in Texas, a lot may be ok outside if they are planted in the ground. In a pot, they are exposed to the cold more than in the ground.
could be put in cold greenhouse that would be great - Just don't water them.
Where do you live? Being frozen or in several frosts can kill them. The suck up moisture but don't need to be watered unless the soil is fry more than an inch below the top. Planting them in trays, pots, or other moveable receptacles is easiest, but they are very easy to dig up. South Texas, Calif., La., Miss., Ala., Ga., Fl., USVI--no! Any further north and you have to judge it. I love succulents. Best wishes 😇
depends on what succulents and your location
I've had hens and chicks outside in a "strawberry" pot for 15 years. I live in Michigan and we can get some nasty winters. They are fine.
