How do I fill in a 2' gap between a chain link fence & a wooden fence
I'd like to fill it in with fast growing vines or ? We have a hard time controlling the weeds etc. Any ideas?
I've seen it done around AZ with ocotillo trimmings. They make a fence out of it, and water the bottoms. Over time, they grow roots and live!
I have seen something like that only once and thought it was cool. Coming up with the structure itself would not be that hard, I am just not sure what plants to use. Something vining would look great but probably only for spring, summer and fall. I would sink 2 sets of staggered fence posts about 6" apart, then run screening or mesh to hold the soil in and insert plants. Here is an article with another varation of this idea. Certainly something to think about. I like the idea for sure. ❤

Never heard of a living fence and obviously never seen one. However, knowing how Ivy grows on anything, might be an option for your greenery. I have it on a wall and short of digging way down in the ground to get rid of the root source, it will continue to grow and renew itself.
what a beautiful idea, i can't wait to see how yours comes out! I think this will help!
My mom built a living fence with willow cuttings. Check out youtube for tutorials.
