A sturdy umbrella.
Just put out enough food to last most of the day or less if you are at home and can restock throughout the day. Or change style of bird feeder. I have fly through feeders as well as a box feeder. Or rig up food umbrellas (think patio and party food umbrellas), to hang over your feeders.
The best idea I have seen so far, is to use a garbage can lid, and put a bungy cord over it. This will prevent the rains. If you have a tree above it, or arch way, just put the cord thru the boards, and connect it to the can hook, and all will be fine. Birds will not let the noise bother them, if there is food available, and they get used to the noise. Have a lovely sunny day, J.
