You cannot really fix it without sanding and refinishing it, but if it were me I'd use Old English , it will stain it again and make it shiny. It really hides any small scratches too. It comes in dark or light finish. I use it twice a year on all my furniture as it puts oil back into the wood and helps keep it from drying out too much too. It is also good at cleaning kitchen cabinets. I love it.

I am guessing that you will need to lightly sand off the damage (and the rest of the tabletop to get an even appearance), and then restain it. I can't think of anyway to repair this that would blend in the damaged spots without resanding everything.

Learn to refinish wood. Outside job/fumes/fire. Fine steel wool and Formby's or mix 1/2 laquer thinner with 1/2 acetone (paint supplies). stain perhaps, varnish. be sure to wear the rubber gloves made for this job. do not leave rags, etc. inside house or garage. metal coffee cans good for mixing and using, little at a time.
