My method for cat urine used to be scrubbing with cheap shampoo and water. Don't use shampoo with conditioners or for dyed hair, just the simplest shampoo available. Dry and vacuum. I would have used vinegar years ago to neutralize any lingering odors. Now I would use Febreeze for pets. It is not overly perfumed and is really effective. Best wishes 😇
Spot Shot works really well On pet stains. I also use a Bissel green machine that cleans (use good pet carpet cleaner product) and extracts dirty water. Extracting the urine is key. You have to get the carpet padding clean too. saturating with white vinegar and water, extracting liquid thoroughly - repeat. Than place thick layers of facial tissue or white paper towels over damp spot and weight with heavy object over night. Remove and repeat until tissue/paper towels no longer wick water. brush nap with your hand to fluff.
Cat urine odor is hard to remove - dog urine not as bad.
I have also had good luck using toilet bowl cleaner 1/2 cup to water 1/2 cup on cement floors to remove cat urine odor - spray on solution and scrub - wipe up and repeat - place a fan on floor to speed drying. be cautious with solution - but this works.
When you replace your flooring - don't use carpet!!!
Folex!!! Can use in carpet machines, spray on spots & they disappear, have even used on stubborn stains on clothing before washing.
