Hire it out.
Wear gloves. Here in MD we call them "sticker bushes." Try cutting bush in thirds, starting at the top working your way to the bottom when you can then dig up the roots.
Do it in pieces. If you don't have a garden nipper, get one. Wear a long sleeved heavy shirt or jacket and loose canvas or cotton gloves. With your nipper, cut off a branch as far as you can reach without getting scratched. Continue this, piling them in your cart or whatever you have to haul them, (or even on a tarp you can pick up by the corners) as you go so you don't have a pile on the ground you have to pick up. When you have removed all the branches, dig out the roots.
Just trim off small bits at a time and work your way around the bush till you have nothing left but the main trunk. Then dig out the rootball. For jobs like this I order an extra green waste bin or two and place the bits directly into the bin so no bending and picking up. Make sure you are suited up well, wear eye protection and have sharp tools.
Thick gloves and pants. best of luck!
