Murphy's Oil Soap works great! Have been using it for decades.
Hi Grannypenny, Here's a link that may help! http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-Wood-Kitchen-Cabinets
Good luck!
Depends on the finish. Try linseed oil. Use a rag and gently rub it on.
I'd use Murphy's Oil Soap and warm water. Depending on the finish you can if you wish, wipe on Orange Glo for a great sheen. If you're up to a not so difficult project, apply wipe on polyurethane in a Satin Finish after cleaning for a longer lasting look. Best of luck.
I just recently used TSP. Having 2 young grandsons living with me...something stronger then Murphy's was needed this time around. Just polish them up if desired.
Savogran liquid TSP substitute. It is an all-purpose heavy duty cleaner. I purchased it at Lowes. It left the surfaces clean WITHOUT having to rinse. Hope this answers your question dear.
