Check Pinterest for MANY suggestions. If you are a quilter, make a Large pincushion for all those pins the quilting process calls for. You can always paint the wood with most any finish you wish; using ribbons, beaded decorations by the yard, rick rac, trimming for curtains, etc. for decoration. Turn them into flower baskets; determine how to stop water damage first. Small baskets can be decorated in so many ways and will hold and store so many things around your house or can be used for gifting as a pretty container for cookies and small cakes or bread or just as a decorated box. Just use your imagination and don't forget to post pictures ... also, if you have more than you wish to used, you might list them of a local Craig's List for a reasonable price. Crafter's everywhere might be interested in purchasing them for their ideas particularly if the are clean and the price is something they can afford.
