Cinnamon! Sprinkle it wherever they're attempting to enter. They don't like the smell & don't want it on their feet.

Terro ant bait works. Change exact locations about every 10 days

I agree with Lora. Ants are known to hate cinnamon. You could also spray a mixture of vinegar and water (equal parts). Both methods are effective and inexpensive. Wishing you well.

Baking soda is one of my favorite natural household products because it’s also one of the most useful natural ingredients for so many of life’s little grievances. But while baking soda is great for humans, it wreaks havoc on ants by disrupting their bodies’ natural chemistry. Create your own natural ant bait by mixing equal parts baking soda and powdered sugar. Pour the mixture into a shallow container (plastic or metal lids work great) and place it near the line of marching insects to attract them to your homemade bait. The ants will take it back to their nest, eat it and rapidly dwindle in numbers, thus saving your pantry and your sanity!

You can also strategically position this natural ant bait in places where ants might enter or your home like window sills or in the corners of your pantry and cabinets where food is stored to prevent future invasions.

Great ideas. I'll try them and post the results. I know Terro works, but it is toxic...

  • packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are coming in if you can find it, or even on your counter in a small lid. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.
