As long as it's not vinyl or acrylic, you can change the texture of the tile so it's less slippery by etching it with hydroxy acetic acid, like Stone Grip non-slip tile treatment: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JTTHVM/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_Ra0VzbRXCZQME
There are directions for how to apply it here: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/make-tile-slipfree-31912.html
An easy fix! Home builders do this to protect the rest of the flooring in your home. Rain and snow are not good for hardwood, or in your case, carpeting. All you need are really good waterhog mats. I have them even though rain where I live is an "EVENT" - I still have them since they are so great. I purchased some as a gift for my girlfriend as her hubby is very cheap and poo poo's everything but being a gift he could not refuse. He loves them, and no surprise, my girlfriend does too. Here are a couple links - a bit expensive but so worth it to not slip on slick floors!

Any big office supply store should have different sizes of rubber mats that don't slide or curl up. They last for years, and they can be washed outside with a water hose. 😇
