Certainly they can come back. As long as the root system haven't been destroyed. Feed them and take care or them.
Yes, they reseed, but you can dig them up (if you get them early) and transplant them to the areas you prefer. Myrtle Beach is thus named because after a major hurricane, the only trees left standing were generally the Crepe Myrtles!
