I killed my crepe mertyle trees. . they are returning

When I purchased my property I had to cut some trees to build the house. The crepe mertyle trees I had to cut down are now growing in my back yard. There are several of them. Is it normal for them to just grow back like that?? I love crepe mertyle trees!

Crape myrtles have been known to reseed themselves if the conditions are right.

Certainly they can come back. As long as the root system haven't been destroyed. Feed them and take care or them.

Yes, they reseed, but you can dig them up (if you get them early) and transplant them to the areas you prefer. Myrtle Beach is thus named because after a major hurricane, the only trees left standing were generally the Crepe Myrtles!

Try to make sure that all of the roots are dug up and killed
