What do you mean by check? You mean you want to trouble shoot and fix? I wouldn't recommend that.... Gas is dangerous. Call a well-know repair company
Do a search for an "electronic ignitor switch", if that is broken ovens will not heat.
Could be a number of things! First, call your local gas company, they will generally come out for free and diagnose the problem. Or call a plumber, you do not want to mess around with gas lines and hurt yourself.
Have someone check the thermostat controlled valve.
You will need to first check the part that puts out the spark to light the burner, if there is not a pilot light. If there is a pilot light and it is burning, then you will need to check the thermal couple.
