Any ideas on a creative storage for hiding DVD player, Comcast box, wires etc. I only have an area of 34 inches long by 20 inches tall, depth 17 inches. Nothing fits from the stores, any ideas would be appreciated.

You could use a box with an opening cut in the wall side - tuck all the wires in the opening, paint the box to match the wall or black enamel and pop a plant on top.

Try to get your hands on some bricks or concrete blocks, the number depends on the size of them and how many shelves you would want and the space between the shelves. You can get 1x12's or whatever depth you want by using more boards. Cut them to the length you need and sand and finish them in the way you want them to look. Stack the bricks or concrete blocks with the shelves between to the height and number of shelves you want. I have a six foot wide set of shelves made with reused bricks and quality wood boards that my mom gave me when she downsized. She had it for about twenty years and I have had it for about 15 years and it is still a great piece of furniture in my house for books( I have a lot) and Knick knacks.
