Powder in the cracks for old squeaky floors not helpful. Any tips?

For solid wood floors. What I did in my hall when I removed carpeting. I located the squeaks with my foot. Put a piece of tape on the squeaks. Had quite a few. I drilled two 1/8" holes in the floorboards at an angle toward each other about 1/2" apart. Used 6 to 8 penny finish nails and nailed in the holes. Countersunk the nails and filled the holes with Minwax Blend-Fil pencils. They come in all stain colors. The angle of the nails prevent the floorboards from lifting.
Perhaps a rug, the thicker the better, placed over the squeaky area might help muffle.

There is a kit to stop squeaking floors. You can screw through carpet and into the floor joist and it breaks off below the floor level. It can also be used without carpet. You have to find where the floor joist are located.
