did you clean the food trap?
I use powdered Cascade, always have, it's cheaper than the pods. I also make sure the rinse is full of Jet Dry. Also I set it on pots and pans, even if it's only dishes, utensils and glassware. It seems to run forever though. They come out really clean.
do you have hard water? you may need to use salt too.
How old is the dishwasher? When was the last time that you ran a cycle through with just hot water and vinegar? Is there also a food filter at the bottom of the dishwasher that can be removed to allow cleaning around and under the element?
Hi Dianne, if I use powder or powder only pods, I get grit. My DW is 20+ years old, and the only type that works for me anymore is Cascade pods which is 1/2 powder, 1/2 swirly liquid. I used to be a diehard Kirland and Finish fan, but they always leave residue in some glasses, the Cascade never does, even if I forget to refill the Jet Dry dispenser.
