How is the best way to keep potted hydrangea over the winter?

where do you live and which species (type) of hydrangea do you have? Without knowing specifics my general answer would be to keep pot out of the weather once it's gone dormant for the winter. Garage, or covered porch perhaps.
These don't work too well in a pot. Check with your local extension service and see if they are winter hardy for your region. If not - bring it in. Make sure you place it away from heat, where it gets sun and remember to water it.
