Cut Every single bit of root and stem out the garden Or Burn it down it Is Very very invasive although it does look nice It is Destructive Even Gets into Drains and House Foundations And Bricks My advice Get rid asap
Just cut back. I do & it doesn't hurt it. My neighbor mowes over it on his side of stone wall, this yr I haven't been able to do yard work so its half way across drive way.
Trim it regularly
Yes, cut it back (as much as you like) and you could also build a structure for it to climb on and you would have a natural point of interest in your yard while controlling it at the same time.
Just keep cutting it back!
