I'd use a quality lemon oil and if that didn't work, I'd use Old English Polish for dark furniture.

If it is really a surface scratch and not a gauge, rub it with a piece of walnut or a pecan.

For more than a scratch, which basically only goes through the finish, I would try what I've seen wood repairers do. (unbelievable) Take a crayon (like Crayola) the closest color to the wood that you can find. Rub it in the scratch and a little past the margins. Then use a hair dryer on warm, not hot, to blow it soft. Scrape off the excess with a pen knife or your fingernail then rub it smooth. I couldn't find the scratch when he was done. And I paid him big bucks!

A PPRODUCT CALLED RESTOR, OR OLD ENGLISH. WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT WILL MELT THE FINISH JUST ENOUGH TO FILL IN SMALL SCRATCHES. ALSO A GOOD FUNITURE POLISH MAY HELP WITH NOT SCRATCHING AGAIN.
