Is he left alone for long days? Stress chewing? Can you put him in doggie daycare or get someone to walk him outside mid day? My pit could actually spring the lock on the cage. I finally started just using kiddy gates where I did not want hiM To go while I was gone. They are really great dogs. If I left him w a Nyla bone or a thick bone marrow shank bone, it helped. Good luck.
Get a corner cabinet end table, and create a room for him.....paint it ! and there you go....a crate!!!
Giving him a big nylon bone for his chewing habit might help
We purchased the Kong Extreme for our strong chewer and it works great. We also take ours on long walks in the morning to tire him out, and used baby gates to keep him in the room we wanted him to stay in. Ours escaped from his crate as well, so we started leaving him in the entire room with toys and a comfy bed to lay on. I've included the link for the kong extreme (it seriously works great, we purchased two of them and they're still around two years later!).
Good luck!
