get rid of the clutter
Look for furniture that can do double duty. For example - A blanket chest becomes a seat for a table. Skirts on loveseat, bed so storage underneath. Look up- so units on the wall such as bookcases should go as high as possible.
Go through everything and get rid of any doubles, purge the things you don't need or use. Utilize your wall space with shelves. Trunks can do double duty as a coffee table or bench.
Hide all the hubbie's things out of sight and display your own..
whats wrong with your husband?? (just kidding)
Invest in new furniture that you both like. Sell all the things that you can't use of his and yours, because now it's ours.
Well....your husband could always sleep outside.
