Costs vary widely from one area to the next. Don't be shy about asking your local contractors for bids. They are accustomed to this practice.
always get 3 estimates.
All depends on where you live, I had to do it back in 2003 where I had to replace the original main from city at curb to house. House built in 1926. 100 feet of digging and installing. Was about $6,000 plus I had to put my mom in a local hotel for 3 nights. And take 3 days off work, (what a way to use vacation days!), to sit around and watch people work.
always get a quote before you hire and shop around for quotes
Get an estimate from a reputable plumber and obey your local water and sewer regulations. It's mighty costly from what I understand.
Hello Cebh47, I suppose a lot of what it costs to trench out a serer line to the curb from the house would depend on here you live, who you hire, or if you can do it yourself (a guy who lives down the street from my daughter, for example, is a landscaper, so after work he and the guys he works with go to each other's homes and take care of each other's yards for free, except the owner pays for any material costs incurred. I am sure plumber's probably do the same thing, or home repair teams). YOU wouldn't happen to be a plumber with some inside contacts, would you? LOL Anyway, below you will find a few links that might be of help. Good Luck Cebh47, and thanks for coming to HOMETALK for answers :)
