Can you paint cabinets that have been refaced?

    Make sure they are clean and dry. Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

    If the cabinets have been refaced, its most likely formica, on the fronts. if so this is a type of plastic product. So you will have to sand the area to scuff it up. and at the home Depot there is a paint for formica. Either Rust-Oleum or Giani. This one is textured like sand. All instructions Are on the Home depot site.

    Yes. The material used to deface the cabinet would determine what type of paint would give you the best result.
