Roses need full sun. Could you post a photo of the leaves?
Naomie is correct, however there are some varieties of roses that can do well with less. Heirloom Roses and David Austin Roses are dependable sites and have good information about roses and the best roses for your zone and amount of sun available. As an example, my Bonita rose gets partial sun and still puts out a lot of blossoms. It's about 30 years old now. Compost and mulch also will improve your rose bed
One question at a time......Most likely it is Japnaese bottles eating your roses. Use the three in one system by Bayer it is a fertilizer, insect control and fungicide in one. Roses need 6-8 hours of full sun to produce flowers
When I had roses, I used a blend of dawn dish soap, coffee grounds and old cigarette s in a large jar I would put coffee ground, tobacco, and fill with water, and let it set for a few days, the longer the better. in a spray bottle I would add just the water part and a few drops of Dawn. Spray plants once a week. No bugs of anykind. Did I find on my roses or any other plants.
Oh my goodness, when first had planted my heirloom tearose bush, the leaves, blooms, buds and everything were disappearing -- like someone came a hacked them. But as Donna commented, I made a mixture of water, dish soap, hot sauce and garlic powder. So far so good! Gotta protect the little beauties.
