A friend surprised me with this because I love to revamp things..... Buuuut... I'm stumped 😄 I need fresh ideas. Anything goes!! I'd like to make it into something other than its current purpose of a TV stand. Just need to get my hamster wheel going. Lol

You could add shelves to the middle and it would become an interesting looking combination bookcase and curio cabinet.

Why not make 2 doors for the middle and put mesh in the frame. Put shelfs behind them and use it as a buffet cabinet with some ornament to decorate.

I'd split the unit into three carefully as it looks very feasible. Use the top as bookshelves or a display unit and varnish it as you wish after a good sanding down. Or it could be upturned and used as a clutter and storage box unit. Put doors on it if a cupboard is preferred.

I'd use the middle as a cat play area, box it off as a unit or simply keep as useful wood stock for a future project. I used a similar piece for an outdoor raised bed, filling it with good soil and masking it with a brick outer fascia and top. Weird but worked great and much admired by visitors.

The bottom would logically serve well as a standalone unit if sanded down, varnished and polished nicely.

If unwanted you could donate the bookshelves and storage cupboard and simply use the wide expanse of middle space for the cat play area. You would need to reinforce it with crossbeam perhaps but you could do a really great play area as it looks a good size. I would make the entire innards a scratching pad area so kitty could lay on their back or side and scratch away happily.

3 pieces aren't feasible. The center vertical board is just for support.

I would close up the back with paneling, some light color and paint this (bookcase) a light beige. Put some books, nic-,knacks,

or anything you like. Try out some pictures, mix it up for a nice contrast. Good Luck!

She does sound GREAT . those who give should be praised more often. And so should you, for wanting to give to the cause. This piece appeals to my plant side. A rustic brown mixed into the green. And to make it work with the pet idea. the middle would bring GREAT SUNSHINE to help grow CATNIP!! just glue in foam for padding for pets. then use your favorite fabric to cover the pads. leaving the middle for sun to grow plants. using some attached pots so they have stability. upper and lower of the middle shelf. (snacks) My cats love the soft blankets. Our house is run by my furry loved ones. you could use one of those as the fabric. 20.00 will buy a queen sized one this time of year. i made one of these and put 2 layers of cork under the foam for clawing.:)

cut it up for firewood but burn outdoors as the varnish my be toxic. During the bonfire throw leftover 4th of July fireworks into the conflagration and video the results from behind a fireproof shatterproof Lexan barrier. Add music of Todd rundgren's Hello Its Me and post on Vimeo with the tag "stupid is as stupid does". It will go viral.

All I see is a storage area with numerous ideas. Add back and doors, and more shelves. Cut in half and make 2.....one could be turned into a spice cabinet, another for a curio cabinet......add glass doors, shelves and refinish in your choice.

You could put fish tanks in the open spaces; watching fish swim is very calming.

Hi.. depending on your needs in the house..you could use the top portion as a bench..add cute solid feet to stand on..make doors with frames and chicken wire..maybe some cute crystal door knobs. Cushion optional. Could be for end of bed..mud room..front door?

The bottom portion I would add some taller sexy legs..gorgeous deep paint..oversized door knobs (just to be different) and use it as a sideboard...keep dishes in it..or table settings..booze..whatever tickles your fancy..lol..

    Many options..good luck

I would split it up the bottom part I would put shelves in and paint it with an accent color inside. Add nice handles and use it for a buffet TV stand. You could add a wine rack and glass rack . Or use it to store books or games that you just don't like laying around

The top part I would also paint and put it on tall legs. Add a towel rack and hooks to the side and an extra shelf either in the middle or on both sides Put cookbooks in tall side or tall vase, soup tureen, then smaller Kitchen items for decor in the smaller shelves.you could then use it as a island.

The middle I would use the wood for making the shelves for the other two projects or save it for another time.

What do you need? How much space do you have. Begin from there. If you don't need anything and have plenty of storage keep it and mull it around until there is an idea. My off the cuff idea was a cubby by your back door with some alterations of coarse, but, that depends on what your needs are.

Most entertainment centers of that size are pretty sturdy if you enclose the backside for additional support. I am sure the clinic will have kids coming in with parents to be seen. May I suggest it be revamped without much change to turn it into a storage area for kids things they can play with. Put it in an area with a couple of kids rugs and tables and chairs where they can color, play with blocks, and other kids toys to keep them busy for a while and entertained. Perhaps a few of your friends can get donations of kids toys and activities from the towns people. You can use the top cupboards to store extra supplies of crayons, coloring books, etc. Just a suggestion, you have been given some good ideas before mine that would be good for the clinic, too.

How about a little girls dress up station? In the open area put in rods to hang clothes. Baskets can hold shoes, hair bows and accessories. Maybe even a mirror on the side of the cabnet.

You could make it look old fashioned with the back covered and lace doilies hanging with old plates and make it a pretty buffet.

Instally mirrors on the top to cover the holes. Cover the open place on the bottom with wood. Make it a bar.
