They sell wood grain paint rollers. I have used a comb, brush and various kitchen implements to create the woodgrain technique. Here are some options for you!

Last year I purchased a small hand tool at lowes I believe , that is made to give woodgraining effect. After painting a good base coat apply another coat and while its wet start dragging your tool top to bottom non stop.to get more realistic grain and knots you simply rock your tool, while dragging push back (starts your knot) continue for just few inches with it pushed back then bring it back down and continue dragging down.its so simple!! If u mess up just quickly brush more paint over area and start again. Its really lovely if you add a bit of another color for the grain. And only few $ for tool
There's a tool for that. https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=wood+graining+tool
The idea is to paint a lighter color on the bottom, let dry, then use the graining tool with a gel stain to create the wood effect. You might practice a bit before trying to do the cabinets.

You can buy the full kit for less than $100.00. You have follow all of the instructions very carefully. I have used this product on light and white coloured chests of drawers and have been satisfied with the results. The kit will cover lots of cupboards.
