What is your question that we can help you answer?
Fall is a good season to get "tree rounds" or wood circles. Ask around as somebody might know of some one that is cutting a tree down for firewood or trimming trees, visit a lawn and garden shop, they may be selling wood circles for decorations. When you find your wood circles, cut at least 3 round holes in your wood circle to balance your table, insert the rope and tie a knot under the wood circle bottom. Gather the rope at the top, make a knot and slip over a large strong hook Find a strong hook that can be screwed into a strong wood beam.
Nice! I'd start with any sealant or paint you'd like on the wooden circles and then move to drilling 2-3 holes equidistant on each circle. The diameter of the drill holes should be slightly larger than the diameter of the ropes cross-section. Pull the ends of rope through the hole and tie off at the bottom of the circle. Apply some glue before pulling th end into a knot to ensure it will hold. Use a screw end hook or circle into the ceiling to secure.
You can attach the rope, cable or chain a number of ways: eyebolts or drilling a hole through the wood to tie/attach the cable or chain.
I would suggest you think about what you want this side tables to do, because they can move a tip and everything falls off. You might need a more rigid structure. Hope that helps.
All good suggestions. I would add that you need three holes so they do not tip and I would add a large metal washer on the underside so the knot cannot rub into the wood. Chain with eye screws/bolts would be effective, but not as organic looking.
