Is Creeping Charlie in your lawn a good thing or a bad thing?
Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
We are going through the same thing, year after year. The green stuff sounds like moss. But to treat that, it will make it perfect for weeds and grass. My Son-in-law said to edge the walkway with a machine. Well, it works, but it still didn't stop new grass from settling into the sand in between the pavers. Someone suggeted using Roundup for Poison Ivy. I did and it did kill small patches of grass beyond that plastic border thing that edges the brick walkway. However, that means the grass is the kind that spreads by long roots. But...it worked! The grass came back in the lawn after a month, no reseeding on my part, and no weeds or grass has grown through the bricks since July. Good luck, it's a pain to control!
Try spraying with white vinegar. Don't allow the spray to drift to your landscaping plants. You may have to repeat the vinegar spray a couple of times.
I use one cup of salt, one cup of vinegar to two gallons of water in a garden sprayer. Spray the weeds and stones till saturated. The object is to get down to the roots. Last about one year. To prevent weeds between pavers is to use polymeric sand to fill the cracks.
After you get rid of the weeds, fill the cracks with dark stone dust then water them gently to keep them in place. Water will harden them like grout in side the cracks. it's cheap, incredibly easy. You may have to do it every 5-10 yrs.
Instead of round up try bleach, its not poison like round up.
On a bright sunny day apply apple cider vinegar followed by boiling water, usually one application is all that is needed. I use a squirt bottle this keeps the vinegar where I need it. I have been doing this as I do not like to use harmful chemicals( Monsanto has cancer causing agents)
