What fruit tree are your referring to and what is your location
hi, I have an Apple tree and I've learned some tips for pruning it. All the branches should grow in a 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock angle, Any stems growing on the under side of the branch will reduce sun to the fruit and may snap the branch with the weight of the fruit. They should be snipped off. All stems should grow from the top of all branches. Typically a fruit (Apple) tree should be no taller than 10' .
This is what I do and believe me I'm no expert but this works for me.
Good luck! 🍎
