I have wood cabinets with a heated laminate

They are at least 30 years old....is there a way I can paint over the laminate?

yes. Clean them real well and use 2 to 3 coats of chalk paint. Then seal.

Think their is a paint you can apply first and then paint over the top of this with your choSen colour.
