YOUR RIGHT IT IS A POPPY.
It's a poppy.
poppy
It's a fancy version of a poppy. If you leave the pods after the flower is finished blooming and drys out they will open and you will have a ton of them everywhere they are very hardy and spread easily. You can save the seeds and plant them for next yr but need to be controlled.
yes, it looks just like my poppies I bought this year, lovely!
Looks like an opium poppy. My mom raised them for years until she freaked because they were opium!
Yes, I agree with everyone, it is a "Poppy". They are so beautiful.
They are beautiful poppies.
Looks like a Peony
I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THIS PLANT.
This is a poppy.
Only a few poppies are annuals, of the family somniferum, which means "sleep." These are called breadseed poppies or florist poppies because of the large seed pod. The seed isn't sold in many places because they are also raised commercially for the opium industry in some countries. I have been trying to raise some just for dried arrangements in the fall to no avail. They must be started when it's cool and kept moist.
Oriental Poppy!
