Baking soda can, over time, take out some of the odors. But you can make your own: http://cleanmyspace.com/diy-natural-home-deodorizers-air-fresheners/

  • Vanilla beans, any citrus peels, lavender. Take an old pot, fill with water, set on simmer and just toss items in. Just do not forget to turn off before bed.

Yes there are. You can simply put one cup of white vinegar in a bowl and simply let it sit in each room of your house. Also in a jar, put a cup or so of baking soda and a few drops of your favorite essential oil (lemon, mint, lavender) poke holes in the lid. Then sprinkle on a mattress and then vacuum an hour or so later. On pillows the same. I even just leave the jar sitting in a closet or on a shelf all the time. I love the clean fresh feel of it. I even sprinkle it on my bathroom rug and rub in, in between washes.
