What kind of paint should I use?

I want to paint some empty cans to use for utensils but I don't know about chipping, scratching, etc. What kind of paint is best?

spray paint and if it does chip or scratch super quick and easy to fix and change out colors if you like to mix up your décor
IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH BLACK - There is a paint called Black Magic, available though " Idealworld" TV show UK Sort of Plastic Coating
put a primer on then spray paint. I did several. Coffe cans back when there were cans and not plastic....a hammered metal look spray paint.
There are paints made specifically for metal. Ask you local Lowe's!

Most will chip but spraying cans can take a lot of normal wear. I like Rustoleum.
